The stormy wind blew in hard from the black night sky. Waves pounded the rocks around me soaking me in cold spray. I was standing on a large boulder on the shore of Lake Erie leaning into the wind and shouting. I was shouting a prayer into the wind, “Lord! Enable me to speak to my generation about faith and how you can be trusted completely!” I was battered even harder by the wind as if the enemy of our souls was shouting back at me saying, “NO!”
The memory flashed back to me from the 1980’s when I’d prayed that prayer. I sat stunned because I had just launched this website, FaithStoriesOnline.com. A website devoted to some interesting faith stories the Lord had blessed me to be a part of over the last twenty plus years.
Many people over those years have asked me to write these stories down and share them. I had forgotten about the prayer that stormy night on the boulder. Now I’m seeing the answer to that prayer unfold before my eyes.
My prayer is that you will be encouraged by these stories as I have been encouraged by the faith stories of others. And that you will see God can be trusted, and trusted completely! Both in times of fair weather in our lives and in the dark stormy blasts of night.
